Laikipia University is a Public Chartered University near Nyahururu. The Senior Technologist II (GIS Technology) supports the School of Science and Applied Technology by organizing and executing practicals and field work in GIS tools including Esri ArcGIS and QGIS.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide safe use of GIS equipment by operating according to laid down procedures and manuals

•Ensure preparation, conduction, and supervision of practical field work/courses or classes

•Maintain records of equipment in line with established best practices

•Participate and offer technical support in research matters for students and staff

•Collect and prepare teaching materials to ensure practicals are done within schedules

•Ensure scientific servicing and calibration of laboratory equipment and machines

•Ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained in laboratories, workshops and fields

•Ensure safety disposal of scraps for workplace hygiene and safety

Requirements

✓Bachelor's degree in the relevant specified field from a recognized institution

✓Relevant Professional Qualifications

✓Be a registered member of relevant professional body [Where Applicable]

✓Experience: Three [3] years' experiences as a Senior Technologist III or its equivalent
