About
Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) is a state corporation responsible for conservation and utilisation of animal genetic resources in Kenya. The Principal Internal Auditor leads the audit and risk management function, implementing audit strategies and overseeing risk profiling across the Centre.
Key Responsibilities
•Implementing audit strategies, policies and procedures
•Periodically reviewing systems and controls to give an opinion on their reliability and effectiveness
•Reviewing operations to establish adequacy of manuals, policies and guidelines
•Monitoring and reporting on the Centre's risk profiling, risk appetite, risk registers and risk management
•Supporting various Divisions in risk profiling and mitigation
•Facilitating development and maintenance of risk registers within the Centre
•Evaluating budget processes to give assurance on compliance and effectiveness of budget systems and controls
•Preparing risk-based annual audit plans for approval by the Audit Committee
•Undertaking specific audit assignments
Requirements
✓A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been in a Management position
✓Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields: Commerce (Finance or Accounting option), Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
✓Master's degree in any of the following fields: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance Option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
✓Registered with a professional body and a member of ICPAK and IIA or its equivalent, and in good standing
✓Professional courses CISA, CIA etc
✓Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
✓Proficiency in computer applications
