Geothermal Development Company (GDC) is a state corporation mandated to undertake geothermal resource development in Kenya. The Managing Director & CEO leads the company's strategic direction, oversees geothermal exploration and drilling operations, and serves as the link between the Board and Management.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide strategic direction and leadership while fostering corporate image, ethical practices, and good governance
•Implement Board resolutions in a result-oriented and timely manner and serve as the link between the Board and Management
•Spearhead exploration of geothermal resources, infrastructural development, and drilling of geothermal wells
•Drive development of steam fields and prudent management of geothermal resources
•Promote innovation, utilization, and commercialization of Geothermal Direct Use projects and products
•Oversee effective management of Human Resources for optimal productivity through policies and strategies
•Provide advisory role to the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary on energy mix and sector policy development
•Develop and recommend to the Board the annual business plans for the Company
Requirements
✓At least fifteen (15) years' work experience, ten (10) of which should have been in a relevant management role.
✓Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University.
✓Master's Degree from a recognized University.
✓Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative) from a recognized institution.
✓Professional qualification and membership of a professional body (where applicable).
✓Proficiency in computer applications.
✓Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

✓Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
✓Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
✓A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
