Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited (Kenya Re) is a government-owned reinsurer. The Manager, Human Resource provides strategic HR leadership across the Kenya Re Group, driving talent acquisition, performance management, payroll, employee relations, and ESG integration.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide strategic HR leadership and coordinate human resource services across the Kenya Re Group, including recruitment, promotion, discipline, placement, succession planning, and staff welfare
•Develop and implement group-wide HR strategies aligned with the Corporation's overall strategic plan
•Oversee group-wide recruitment, selection, appointments, confirmations, and promotions
•Lead succession management and talent development programmes across the Group
•Drive the full implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of the Performance Management System across the Group
•Integrate ESG and sustainability principles into human resource policies, practices, and culture
•Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing for the entire Group and ensure full tax compliance
•Manage industrial and employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary matters, and union engagements
Requirements
✓Master's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Human Resource Planning, Strategic Management, Governance and Leadership, Business Administration (HR Option), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution
✓Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration (HR Option), Commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution
✓Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) qualification or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution
✓Membership to the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) or any other relevant professional body and be in good standing
✓A valid practicing certificate from IHRM or the relevant professional body (where applicable)
✓A Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution
✓Proficiency in computer applications
✓Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
✓A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience in Human Resource Management, three (3) of which must have been at the level of Assistant Manager, Human Resource Management or in a comparable senior management position
✓Demonstrated experience in team leadership, staff supervision, and engagement with the Board of Directors or equivalent governance structures
