Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) is a state corporation responsible for conservation and utilisation of animal genetic resources in Kenya. The Livestock Attendant provides hands-on animal husbandry support including feeding, cleaning, and assisting veterinary staff.

Key Responsibilities

•Feeding animals

•Taking and recording animals' temperature on a daily basis

•Cleaning animal pens and paddocks

•Preparing and presenting animals before germplasm collection

•Reporting any sick animals

•Taking part in animal dipping and vector control activities

•Preparing and presenting animals for vaccination and treatment

•Parading animals when there are visitors

•Ensuring quarantine measures are adhered to

•Assisting veterinary surgeons during postmortems

Requirements

✓KCSE D + (Plus) or its Equivalent

✓Proficiency in Computer Applications

CHAPTER SIX
