Laikipia University is a Public Chartered University near Nyahururu. The Lecturer (History) teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students and conducts research in History in the School of Humanities and Development Studies.

Key Responsibilities

Teach and train in History at undergraduate and graduate levels
Supervise and mentor both students and staff in the area of specialization
Lead research/innovation teams in History
Provide strategic leadership in development, audit and review of academic programs
Solicit research funds and participate in funded research activities
Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals
Create networks, linkages, collaborations and partnerships
Develop learning materials and research/innovation products for income generation
Management and administration of examinations and assessments

Requirements

An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university
Have published at least two [2] articles in refereed journals (under PhD path)
Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body [where applicable] (under PhD path)
OR: A Master's degree in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university [in special cases] with at least three [3] years of teaching experience at the university level or in a research institution or industry
A minimum of twenty-four [24] publication points, of which at least sixteen [16] should be from refereed journal papers (under Master's path)
Registered with the relevant professional body [where applicable] (under Master's path)
Provide evidence of having registered for PhD and indication of progress on the same (under Master's path)
