Laikipia University is a Public Chartered University near Nyahururu. The Driver I is responsible for reliable transport operations, maintenance, and safe custody of University motor vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
•Drive University motor vehicles as authorized in line with University guidelines and procedures
•Maintain proper care of work tickets for assigned equipment through documentation
•Carry out routine checks on vehicle systems including cooling, lubrication, electrical, braking, suspension, and transmission
•Detect and report vehicles due for service and malfunctioning of equipment through daily inspection
•Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicles through regular cleaning services
•Facilitate repair and maintenance of vehicles through timely reporting when due for service
•Facilitate fueling of University vehicles as per fueling procedure
•Adhere to Traffic Act and Government Vehicle Check Unit Rules and Regulations
Requirements
✓Be a holder of KCSE Certificate
✓A valid driving license class ABCE
✓Excellent driving skills
✓Basic mechanical knowledge in vehicle wiring/repairs and maintenance will be an added advantage
✓Good knowledge of city roads, locations of government offices and main roads to other parts of the country
✓Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads and conditions
✓Experience: Three [3] years' continuous driving experience as a bus driver/Driver II or its equivalent
