HRMPEB is a state corporation administering HR professional examinations in Kenya. The Accountant (entry grade) handles day-to-day financial transactions, payment processing, record-keeping, and routine financial reporting under the guidance of a senior officer.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and verifying payment vouchers as well as revenue vouchers and submitting for processing
Carrying out routine accounting work such as balancing of cashbooks, imprest and advances
Maintaining registers of documents received and dispatched
Primary data entry in ledgers, cashbooks, vote books and registers
Issuing receipts for monies received
Filing payments and receipt vouchers and ensuring safety of accounts files
Filing simple statutory returns with relevant institutions
Entering in the system entries relating to revenues and expenses
Processing imprests, advances and other disbursements and remitting statutory deductions
Preparing and maintaining financial records
Preparing simple management reports such as imprest and expenditure returns

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounts, Commerce (Finance Option), Business Administration, Business Management, Economics or its equivalent from a recognized institution
Proficiency in computer applications skills
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA-K) — Additional Advantage
Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or any other recognized professional body — Additional Advantage
CHAPTER SIX

This role requires Chapter Six compliance — proof is only needed once you're offered the job, not at application time.
